I had a great time.
Its probably got a fair bit to do with the 2 fish bowl margarita's I decimated, but hey im not going to analyse that to deeply.
Some may complain that its a bit too commercial and not authentic enough, but to them I would say.
"You aint in Mexico nomore Pedro"
Simple rules:
1:Take a group of six or more.
2: Mix and match the mega margarita's.
3: Get the beef fajitas and ask for 1 extra wrap (thems good eatin)
Its not classy, its not fine dining but hey its food you eat with your hands ! Waddya expect ?
I found the staff friendly & efficient, they catered for all 14 of us quickly and more or less at the same time.
To wrap it up (some fajita humour there for ya)
Tasty simple food served well and easy access to bucket sized cocktails make for a fun party/dining experience. _________________ We get suicidal teens and scramble to teach them self-esteem. I had a nacho mountain here a few months ago that rocked my world.
I agree, not classy, but sometimes you just want an enormous pile of cheese and chilli. |

| I know people have bagged it a lot since it moved from Hampden Road but I went there drunk and got more drunk, missed the movies, but had a good evening anyway. They were busy but they squeezed us in. Our food was adequet for drunks and the atmos was as busy as a 21st birthday party. In fact I think there was a 21st birthday party there. Or girls just out to scream and have a good time at what I suspect to be other diners expense. I was drunk enough to only be amused. All in all it was more fun than strudels. |

Yeah I like it. I used to like it more in Hampden Rd when it was cheaper. But it is still a good place to drink. _________________ Site Administrator. The buck stops here. Complain to me. All problems listened to. No problem too large. No quibble too small. |

| I went there last night as I felt like I needed an enchilada fix. One comment. Do not try the pina colada margarita. I bought a jug. The effect was pleasant but the taste wasn't. I do not know what I was thinking. |

I'm in the "they were better when they were in Hampden Road" crowd. My reason is purely the environment. The atmosphere was better there, with the little rooms rather than the cavernous silo where the drunken squeals of drunken piglets echo around awfully. If you're going to specialise in hen's nights, you might want to pad those walls.
The prices have increased but the quality has remained the same or deteriorated slightly. If you're going to start charging higher prices, you might want to offer something slightly more sophisticated than food that reminds me of an Old El Paso kit.
I mean, I like that kind of food, but I've had better Mexican food for less. _________________ It must have been something I ate. |

You aint in Mexico nomore Pedro
Some points:
They don't pretend to be the most authentic Mexican joint since the Alamo changed management. Yes they seem to cater for squealing girls, which is great because it keeps them safely away from my preferred venues. And padded walls ???? What so it feels more like home to you...??
Things were always better in the old days weren't they ..............NO!
You might as well piss on about how you miss your acid wash jeans ! Deal with it. Things were NEVER as good as you remember. Just watch The Never Ending Story if you don't believe me.
As for the price increase I wonder if this had anything to do with their overheads quadrupling with the move and general inflation ....wadya think.
I Don't know why im getting emotive on this one, it just seems like kicking a KFC for not being healthy......You know what your getting don't act all fucking surprised when you get it. _________________ We get suicidal teens and scramble to teach them self-esteem. | It's basically the Mexican equivalent of McDonalds, but worse. I hate it. The nachos I had there were dreadful, and so overpriced.. The margaritas are fun but I make a better one at home, and I don't have to put up with the legions of dipshits either. |

I avoid Tacos whenever I can!
I think the prices are ridiculous for what you get, while 'they may not pretend to be the most authentic Mexican joint' they certainly charge as though they are. So far as culinary experiences go I enjoy Old El Paso kit at home more.
I would only ever go in happy hour as the margaritas are pretty average which is to be expected/forgiven when they are churning so many of them out in bulk, but the full price for them is also ridiculous.
Always noisy and packed with shreeking females, but you expect that, it is not really a fine dining experience! |

Tacos is good value! try getting a meal of that quality anywhere else in town! And I am talking a meal here not a dish of gravy and poor quality meat that you might find in an Indian establishment. Or some pre-chewed meat that looks and tastes like tuna that you might find at Amigos
If you dont like the noise - go on a week night its much nicer! |

I'm going to start with Kawasemi as a good example of where you can get a meal of that quality (ah ok.... not quite "in town" by some people's opinion). I'll list other places as they spring to mind
oh, and I think some of the indian places in town are fantastic quality for low price. _________________ hobbits love the spice. |

This place is a waste of space you know that?
The focus of this 'joint' seems to be its margaritas. Any 'restaurant' that relies on getting its patrons drunk quickly and cheaply has got its fucking priorites wrong.
Mexican food is hard food to fuck up but somehow this place manages it. It is seriously bland for mexican fare and as stodgy as it can get.
There was no variation or uniqueness about the menu, but that was no suprise judging from the cheesey mexican decor and the fact that the place has a 'happy hour'.
I felt like shaking the other people in there and yelling "Fucking wake up and grow some bollocks! They are charging you way too much to eat rubbish food!" ... but I think they were too drunk to notice.

I am going to show some restraint and not bite.
I will pose the question: What do people expect when they go to Tacos? The few times I have been I've expected ok food, lots of noise and a boozy goodtime. It delivers this consistantly.
Variety is the spice of life, and I think Taco's fills an important niche in the market. _________________ We get suicidal teens and scramble to teach them self-esteem.
